Laura Grossman Nissim, RN, MS, CNS, LNCC

Laura Grossman Nissim has practiced since 1979 in a variety of pediatric settings, in a number of hospitals in the New York area: Babies Hospital at Columbia Presbyterian, Schneider Children's Hospital at Long Island Jewish, and Blythedale Children's Hospital. Laura's undergraduate degree is from SUNY Downstate, and she received her graduate degree with specialization as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Pediatrics from Columbia University School of Nursing, 1988. Following clinical positions that ranged from intensive care to rehabilitation and administration Laura worked in the public schools caring for well children along with high-medical needs students. She also has held adjunct faculty positions in the Schools of Nursing of the College of New Rochelle and Columbia University. More recently Laura taught online nursing classes through the University of Phoenix.

Laura began working as a LNC independently in 2004, following course work as a paralegal and then the Legal Nurse Consultant program at PACE University, while working in a community nursing environment. In October of 2006 she received national certification from the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants as a Legal Nurse Consultant Certified (LNCC)..

Laura has worked for a large defense firm with offices across the country and overseas as well as an independent consultant for both plaintiff and defense attorneys.  She has worked on numerous types of cases including product liability, professional liability, medical malpractice and environmental issues (such as black mold and lead intoxication) as well as personal injury and negligence. Her work encompasses case review, analysis and report production, education and research as it relates to medical issues and current practices; investigation and identification of expert professionals at attorney requests; trial prep for attorneys and as needed, accompanying attorney to court to provide assistance.
